I was part of a small editorial team producing "Long Live the Art School", the Epsom UCA Graphic Design Yearbook. Trying to steer clear of the normal repetitive show catalogue, we aimed to show the input and output of the course and university, and also reflect the broader graphic design community. With contributions from Adrian Shaughnessy, Andy Altmann and Vaughan Oliver to name but a few, we aimed to both promote the course and create a book with a shelf-life and value beyond the initial degree show.
An extract from the Times article Lord Roseburry at Epsom (Saturday July 25th 1896) was the starting point of the visual identity. The framed article, actually rescued from a skip during a time of renovation, detailed the opening of the Art school in Epsom by the honorable Lord Roseburry.
